The Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by Playtomic is back in the United States this week, with Austin hosting the second stop of the circuit from April 24 to 26. Following the successful debut in Miami last March, where 50 pairs competed, the event now moves to Texas to continue expanding padel’s footprint in North America.
A growing presence in the U.S.
Maribel Nadal, Deputy General Manager of the Rafa Nadal Academy, emphasized the importance of this expansion: “We are very excited about the response the circuit is receiving in the United States. After the fantastic atmosphere we experienced in Miami, arriving now in Austin represents another step in our international expansion. We want to continue bringing the Rafa Nadal Academy experience and the values of sport to new players and new cities with great potential for padel.”
Competition and exhibition
The Austin event will feature amateur players across categories, maintaining the format that has made the tour an international benchmark. In addition, fans will enjoy an exhibition match between Martin Stiegwardt and Rodrigo Banzer against Will Agritelley and Carlos García, showcasing high-level padel in celebration of the circuit’s arrival in Texas.
Strategic growth and future stops
Austin’s inclusion highlights the sport’s rapid growth in the U.S. and the circuit’s commitment to establishing itself in key cities with vibrant sporting communities. After Texas, the calendar continues with another Miami event from May 8 to 10, before concluding with a grand final in New York City.
Global expansion
The partnership with Playtomic, the leading app for racket sports players and clubs, is central to the tour’s global ambitions. In 2026, the Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour will also visit Spain and Italy, culminating with the international final in Manacor, the home of the Academy.
