Icardo and Rodríguez secure a strong win
The afternoon began with the women’s clash between Tamara Icardo and Nuria Rodríguez for Team Reserve against Sofía Araújo and Ale Alonso of Team Sierra Blanca Estates. Icardo and Rodríguez won 6-3, 7-6, showing consistency and composure in key moments. Their victory reaffirmed the importance of women’s padel at this year’s edition, following the historic debut of the female draw on the opening day.
Coello and Garrido respond for Sierra Blanca Estates
Arturo Coello and Javi Garrido delivered a crucial win against Leo Augsburger and Mike Yanguas, taking the match 6-3, 6-4. Their consistency and ability to manage decisive points earned Sierra Blanca Estates two vital points. The triumph carried weight not only for the scoreline but also for overcoming a dangerous pair known for their power and speed.
Nieto and Sanz prevail in super tie-break
The final match of the day saw Lucas Bergamini and Ale Galán face Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz. After alternating sets, the contest was decided in a super tie-break, where Nieto and Sanz proved sharper to seal a 6-1, 2-6, 10-5 victory. Their success added further drama to the standings and kept the title race alive.
Marbella shines off the court
Beyond the matches, Marbella received recognition as “Best European Sports Destination 2026” from European Best Destinations. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz accepted the award, reinforcing the city’s role as a hub for international sporting events.
