Women’s padel tournament in Marbella will be huge

More than 200 amateur players are competing this week in San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella, as part of the Women Padel Oysho circuit. The event runs until Sunday and is considered the leading amateur women’s padel championship in Spain.

Promoting women’s sport

The tournament aims to raise awareness and encourage the practice of padel among women, building a global network of players united by their passion for the sport. This year’s edition also includes a free clinic for students from municipal padel schools, reinforcing its educational and community focus.

Institutional support

José Pérez, president of the Andalusian Padel Federation, emphasized the importance of the initiative. “We support this event because it’s where the future players come from. It’s very important to back these kinds of initiatives so that women’s sport continues to grow with the support of institutions and businesses,” he said.

Marbella’s role

Lisandro Vieytes, Councillor for Sports of Marbella City Council, highlighted the town’s strong connection with padel and expressed gratitude to the organizers for choosing Marbella as one of the host venues. The municipality continues to position itself as a hub for padel, combining tradition with modern facilities.

The tournament not only showcases talent but also strengthens the foundations of women’s padel in Spain, ensuring that the sport continues to expand and inspire future generations.
