Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto claimed a significant win at the Miami Open final, defeating the formidable duo of Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello. The result marks a turning point in their rivalry, with Galán and Chingotto showcasing resilience and tactical clarity throughout the match.
Mental shift fuels performance
Ale Galán spoke candidly about the psychological approach that helped them overcome the challenge of facing Tapia and Coello in a final. “We’re arriving and facing the finals in a different way, like the prize that reaching them is and knowing how tough it is so we don’t fall into that frustration,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of gratitude and mental flexibility. “By being grateful to be in the finals I think we’re giving that extra boost and we’ve been able to show it with our game, with grit. When things don’t go our way, keep believing in ourselves. Sometimes, like Fede said, taking this match as different and not thinking about how well we’ve been doing the week frees us up,” Galán commented.
Respect for the opponents
Despite the win, Galán remained humble about the rivalry. “I think from a mental standpoint we’re handling it better, working better, and luckily these results have come. But it doesn’t mean anything: every final against them is different, they’re really good and I don’t think we’re the favorites. We always have to fight and do just a little bit more than them,” he added.
The victory in Miami not only boosts their confidence but also sets the tone for the rest of the season, where mental strength and strategic execution will continue to define their campaign.
