Tommy Coyle launches £750,000 Padel centre with party atmosphere

Former Commonwealth boxing champion Tommy Coyle is opening the doors to his latest project, a £750,000 Padel centre at Bridgehead business park in Hessle, close to the Humber Bridge. The facility, named TC60 Padel, sits opposite his gym and features three covered championship-standard courts alongside a bar and recreation area. Coyle has made clear that his ambition is to support both the physical and mental wellbeing of Hull and the wider region.

Launch event with international flavour

The official opening is set for Sunday, April 19, with Coyle hosting a ticketed party that combines sport and entertainment. “We’re opening our doors for the first time with an official launch party,” said Coyle. “We’ve got four world championship standard players coming down to play a 90‑minute exhibition.” Guests will also have the chance to step onto the courts themselves, sampling the facilities first-hand. The event will feature music, drinks, and a festival-style atmosphere, with the Triton Inn providing an outdoor teepee, DJ Ben Rainey performing, and live saxophone and drum sets adding to the celebration.

Padel’s rapid rise in the UK

Padel has become one of the fastest growing sports worldwide, with more than 500 clubs established across the UK in recent years. Combining elements of tennis and squash, the sport is typically played in doubles and has gained popularity as a social activity. “Padel is perfect for everyone, it is so accessible and anyone of any physical level can play and enjoy the sport,” Coyle explained. He emphasised the social side of the game, highlighting how the venue is designed to encourage people to play, relax, and connect afterwards.

A destination beyond sport

Coyle’s vision extends beyond the courts. “With the gym on site too, we’re trying to create a destination where you can work out, hang out, play sport and have a good time,” he said. The centre aims to be a hub for fitness, leisure, and community, offering a modern space for people to gather. No membership will be required, with courts available on a pay-as-you-play basis. Prices range from £34 off-peak to £40 peak per hour, or £8.50–£10 per person for groups of four. Bookings can be made online or via an app, ensuring accessibility for all.
