Square One Padel has announced the opening of its new facility in Sittingbourne, Kent, following the success of its Ashford club. The centre, located at Dolphin Park, will welcome its first players on Friday, April 24. More than £1 million has been invested in the project, which includes seven padel courts, a gym, a bar, and a restaurant.
Membership opportunities
Ahead of the launch, Square One offered a limited number of Founder Memberships priced at £600 per year. These packages, capped at 100 members, include exclusive benefits such as a free Adidas padel racket valued at £200, a 30% discount on all court bookings, priority access, full participation in gym classes and Pilates sessions, and a personalised Square One hoodie.
Introducing newcomers to the sport
Padel, a racquet sport blending elements of tennis and squash, has grown rapidly in popularity. Matches are typically played in doubles, using tennis scoring but with modified rules. To encourage participation, Square One will host regular introductory sessions at reduced rates, scheduled throughout the day to help first-time players become familiar with the game.
Community impact and employment
The opening of the centre will create 50 new jobs in the area, adding to the local economy while expanding opportunities for sports and leisure.
Founder’s perspective
Square One founder Sam De Haan expressed enthusiasm for the project. “The structure of Swale’s first padel facility is coming together nicely with all seven courts now in place. We’ve already had a brilliant response to the launch of our exclusive Founders Membership package and are excited to welcome our first players through the doors,” he said.
