Manu Castaño and Xisco Gil announce split

End of partnership

Manu Castaño and Xisco Gil have confirmed they will part ways after completing two tournaments in Spain: the Valencia Premier Padel P1 2026, already played, and the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2 2026 scheduled between June 21 and 28. The decision marks the end of a collaboration that began at the FIP Silver in Nola and continued through five more tournaments.

Gil’s statement

It was Xisco Gil who made the announcement, clarifying that the choice came from his partner. “Unfortunately, Valladolid will be our last tournament together. I respect your decision and wish you all the best… you’re a great guy with a bright future. That’s padel for you, and this isn’t the first time it’s happened, nor will it be the last, so I’ll keep working with my team,” Gil said. His words reflected both disappointment and respect, leaving open the question of who Castaño’s next partner might be.

Results together

During their time as a pair, their best achievement was reaching the final at the FIP Silver Hoganas. They also competed in the main draw of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel 2026, where they nearly upset Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk in a tight three‑set battle (7/5, 6/7, 3/6). These performances showed promise, even if consistency proved elusive.

With Valladolid set to be their last tournament together, speculation now turns to who each player will team up with next. Manu Castaño, seen as a rising prospect, may attract a high‑level partner, while Gil will continue working with his team. The split adds another twist to a season already marked by reshuffles and new alliances across the padel circuit.
