Padel Pals is set to open later this year at 4945 S. 71st Street in Mesa, bringing an exciting new racquet sports concept to the East Valley. This upcoming indoor facility will focus on the rapidly growing sport of padel, offering players a full-service venue that blends competitive play with a strong sense of community and convenience.
A space designed for play and connection
The venue will feature seven indoor padel courts and one pickleball court, making it one of the most comprehensive racquet sports destinations in the region. Alongside athletic facilities, the space includes co-working areas, a lounge with food and drinks, a Kid’s Zone, and both pre- and post-game areas. A pro shop will round out the offerings, allowing players to gear up for every match.
Visionaries behind the venture
Padel Pals was founded by Armando Acevedo, Carlos Pereyra, and professional boxer Oscar Valdez. Their goal is to create a welcoming, multipurpose environment for players of every skill level. Expert coaching, recreational leagues, and competitive tournaments will be supported by vibrant social spaces that encourage community-building off the court.
The sport and its appeal
Originating in Mexico, padel is a dynamic sport played in enclosed courts using solid racquets and tennis-like scoring. It’s typically played in doubles and continues to gain popularity across the U.S., especially among players looking for a fast-paced and social alternative to tennis or pickleball.
Differentiation in a competitive market
While racquet sports are booming in Phoenix, with venues like PURE Pickleball & Padel in Scottsdale and The Pad in Tucson, Padel Pals aims to distinguish itself through its indoor-only padel model and full-service amenities. Its location in Mesa positions it well to serve nearby communities such as Eastmark, Gilbert, Chandler, and Tempe.
