Belasteguín to open first padel club in Argentina

Fernando Belasteguín, known globally as Bela, has announced the opening of his first padel club in Argentina. The project will be located in a gated community in Canning, Buenos Aires, with construction scheduled to finish by May 2027. Developed in partnership with Pride Developer, the initiative represents an investment of US$5 million and will replicate the European model with international standards across more than 7,000 square meters.

A career turned into business

After retiring in 2024, Belasteguín transformed his legendary career into a business venture, creating Bela Padel Center. The brand already operates three clubs in Spain, including a 20-court facility in Barcelona. His new Argentine branch marks the first step in expanding the network to South America.

Pride Developer’s vision

Maximiliano Mustafa, CEO of Pride Developer, explained the broader plan: “Pride Canning is an ambitious 185-hectare project. With an investment of over US$100 million, the final phase will be completed between the second half of 2028 and the first quarter of 2029.” The local operation will be licensed for ten years, with SportClub managing daily activities. Future expansions are planned in Buenos Aires and Córdoba.

Infrastructure and services

The ground floor of the new club will feature nine indoor courts built to international standards, a small arena for tournaments, a pro shop, warm-up areas, and locker rooms with direct access to the gym. There will also be an exclusive members’ area. “While there will be conventional court rentals, we aim to offer a differentiated and integrated service,” Belasteguín stated.

Social spaces and community focus

The first floor will serve as a social hub, including a lounge, bar-café, terrace, and event spaces with views of the courts. The design mirrors the Barcelona branch, ensuring premium standards and a strong community atmosphere. Construction is expected to take 12 months, with the official opening set for May 2027.

Belasteguín’s project highlights the growing popularity of padel in Argentina and his commitment to fostering the sport beyond Europe. With premium facilities and a clear expansion strategy, Bela Padel Center aims to become a benchmark for padel in South America.
